Order a regional picnic basket or borrel box with your boat, pick it up at the dock and eat on the lake. From € 12.95 per person.
How it works
Freshly packed, ready at the dock
Add a picnic basket or borrel box while you book your boat. It is prepared fresh with products from the region and waits for you at the dock when you check in. Prices are per person, as shown in our booking system.
Bringing your own food is fine too. Our 6-person and 12-person boats have a table in the middle; the 8-person boat has a sun lounge at the bow. Cold drinks, coffee and tea can be added as well.

Mooring for a picnic
The navigation app shows every mooring place. A few rules keep it relaxed for everyone.
Marked spots onlyMoor at the places marked in the app, at restaurant docks or at the little island. Never under a bridge or along private gardens.
The Bovenwijde lakeThe 2-hour route loops onto the lake: open water, space to drift and room for a swim in summer.
Plan the timeRoute times are pure sailing time. Add half an hour for a picnic stop.
Skipper stays soberPassengers may enjoy a drink; the person steering does not. Police do check.
Take rubbish homeBring everything back to the dock; there are bins at the dock.
Max 6 km/hVillage canals have a strict speed limit. Slow is exactly the point.
Which boat for a picnic?
Prices are per boat, not per person, for one hour on a weekday with an early or late start.

The restaurant at our cruise dock serves à la carte, buffets from 10 people and a 2- or 3-course dinner from € 24.50.

How do I order a picnic basket?
Add it in the booking form when you book your boat, cruise or private tour. You can also add it later via the food & drinks booking link.

Can I bring my own food and drinks?
Yes, you are welcome to bring your own. Alcohol is fine for passengers, not for the person steering.

How long should I rent a boat for a picnic?
Two hours is the sweet spot: the village canals plus a loop onto the Bovenwijde lake with time to stop. Four hours or a full day if you want to explore further.
Is there a picnic for groups?
