4-person whisper boat
Compact and nimble, ideal for couples and small families. From € 24 per hour.
Silent, electric and licence-free. Choose a whisper boat for 2 to 12 people and cruise the canals and the Bovenwijde lake at your own pace.

A whisper boat is an electric boat: no engine noise, no exhaust fumes, no smell of petrol. You hear the water against the bow, the ducks and the wind in the reeds. That is exactly why only slow, electric boats are allowed in the Giethoorn village canal, and exactly why our entire fleet of more than 40 boats is whisper-quiet.
You steer with a wheel and a single lever: forward is forward, back is reverse. No licence is needed; the person steering must be at least 12. At check-in you get a short briefing and the free navigation app with all routes.

Compact and nimble, ideal for couples and small families. From € 24 per hour.

Cosy and stable, with a table in the middle. Our most popular boat. From € 32 per hour.

Our largest boat with a central table, surprisingly easy to steer. From € 48 per hour.

Luxury 12-person boat with extra comfortable seating and thick cushions. From € 75 per hour.

You rent per boat, not per person: four people in the 4-person boat pay € 6 per person per hour. Rent for 1, 2, 3, 4 or 6 hours or a whole day; the longer you rent, the lower the hourly price. If you sail before 12:00 or after 18:00 (after 17:30 at weekends), you get up to 20% off-peak discount on the 4- to 12-person boats, at weekends too.
Book directly with us online and you pay the guaranteed lowest price, with your boat ready at the agreed time. All prices and the calculator are on the prices page.
None: a whisper boat is an electric boat. The name only describes the sound, or rather the lack of it.
A full battery is more than enough for a whole day of sailing at the permitted speed. You see the charge level at check-in; if in doubt we swap the boat.
Yes, the 4-person boat from € 24 per hour is ideal for two. You pay per boat.
Yes, for € 11.95 per dog. Read more on Giethoorn with a dog.
About 6 kilometres per hour, the maximum speed in the village. Fast enough to see the village in an hour and slow enough to take it all in.
Bring a rain jacket: the village is quiet and atmospheric in the rain. Prefer a covered boat? The canal cruise is heated.
